A biomimetic-inspired lampshade that playfully distributes light to create vibrant tessellations on all surrounding surfaces. The curvilinear teardrops were created by using jigs to steam bend locally-sourced ash which is connected to a backpiece of walnut. This wall-mounted lampshade is easy to install with a basic hand drill and screws in any environment to generate a tonic, sophisticated aesthetic. The teardrops have a 180 degree turn radius, enabling the creation of various shadow patterns. This product was inspired by the innovative designs of expert steam bender Tom Raffield.
