This anthropomorphic clay pen pot was a fun side project for ceramics skill development. It was constructed free-hand using some moulding tools to create facial features. Construction by hand creates a sense of individuality, personalising the pot. The Pen Pal Pot is designed to provide emotional support and companionship to students working on assignments. Psychological research has shown that people unconsciously derive emotional stability from things that are similar to themselves, hence the smiling anthropomorphic face design. The pot is capable of storing various stationery items and has protruding ears that allow the user to easily lift up and transport the pot.
